Pandit Taranath’s ace disciple Sadanand Naimpalli, one of the outstanding tabla masters of today, presents a truly classic tabla solo recital on the occasion of the 13th year of Aamad Pratishthan concerts in Mumbai.

“Aamad Pratishthan” is a Charitable Trust set up by Pandit Sadanand Naimpalli, a Tabla and Pakhawaj player of International repute and his band of dedicated students. The Trust was set up in November 2006, to mark the occasion of Pandit ji’s Sixtieth birthday. The organisation aims to propagate and popularise Hindustani Classical Music in general and Percussion Music in particular. This Concert was presented as part of the Thirteenth year of its setting up.

Pandit Sadanand Naimpalli, a septuagenarian, presented a truly outstanding Tabla Solo Recital on this occasion. He chose the ever popular “Teen Taal”, a theme of 16 beats for his exposition. In Teen Taal, Sadanand ji chose to present in the slow tempo, Peshkaar, Kaidas of various Gharanas or schools, and Relas. In the medium and fast tempo, there were poetic compositions called G’ths, Tukdas, Chakkardaars and some bold and resounding Parans. At the outset, Sadanand ji presented the “Guru Ganesh Stuti” Paran – dedicated to Lord Ganesha and also, to the memory of his great Guru Pandit Taranath ji, of hallowed memory The whole performance was verily Stunning and was highly appreciated by the cognoscenti and the lay audience. With this masterly performance, Sadanand ji set up a challenging goal for many aspiring, young Tabla maestroes, to aim for. He concluded his recital with the “Pacha Dev Stuti” Paran – to a thunderous applause.

MARGAZHI 2019

The greatest music festival in the world, the legendary December Season in Chennai, Margazhi, where more than a thousand concerts are held during one month is not happening this year due to Covid 19. But last year, celebrated Swedish sound engineer Maurice Mogard visited India during the 2019 season with us and recorded some of todays greatest performers from North and South.
