Academy Award for Nityanand Haldipur

The General Council of Sangeet Natak Akademi, the National Academy of Music, Dance and Drama, New Delhi at its meeting held on 19 January 2011 selected thirtyeight (38) persons from the fields of Music, Dance, Theater and Puppetry for the Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards (Akademi Puraskar) for the year 2010.

In the field of Hindustani Classical Music, eminent artist Nityanand Haldipur (Flute) have been selected for the Akademi Award 2010.

Those of us who heard him in Stockholm last december will surely agree with the academy’s wise choice.
